The largest owner-operators are GAIL (India) Ltd (29), Gujarat State Petronet (12) and Indian Oil Corp (12) — GAIL (India) Ltd alone is named on 32% of them. Half of India's pipelines in service predate 2010 (median commissioning year of the 49 with a known date), 16 came online in the past decade and the oldest still listed is Naharkatiya-Digboi Crude Oil Pipeline, dating from 1954. 23 are in the pipeline, led by Bathinda-Jammu-Srinagar Gas Pipeline, proposed. They account for 3% of every energy asset OverWatts maps in India.
