Russia has 358 pipelines mapped on the OverWatts open energy atlas — the 3rd-largest fleet of the 110 countries that hold any, and 8% of the world's mapped total. Of these, 261 operating and 80 under construction or proposed.
The largest owner-operators are Gazprom PJSC (218), Transneft (69) and Sakhatransneftegaz JSC (9) — Gazprom PJSC alone is named on 61% of them. Half of Russia's pipelines in service predate 1984 (median commissioning year of the 229 with a known date), 33 came online in the past decade and the oldest still listed is Tuymazy-Ufa Oil Pipeline — Pipeline 1, dating from 1947. 80 are in the pipeline, led by Power of Siberia 2 Gas Pipeline, proposed.
