The largest owner-operators are Open Grid Europe (11), ONTRAS (10) and Terranets BW (9) — Open Grid Europe alone is named on 13% of them. Half of Germany's pipelines in service predate 1994 (median commissioning year of the 36 with a known date), 12 came online in the past decade and the oldest still listed is Hemminsgstedt-Brunsbüttel Oil Pipeline, dating from 1953. 16 are in the pipeline, led by Augusta Gas Pipeline, under construction.
