Of these, 100 operating and 51 under construction or proposed. Operating generation capacity totals 42.0 GW across 100 utility-scale plants of 100 MW and above. The largest is Gaucho wind farm (4.2 GW).
The largest owner-operators are Pampa Energia SA (14), Central Puerto SA (13) and Genneia SA (12) — Pampa Energia SA alone is named on 9% of them. Half of Argentina's power plants in service predate 2017 (median commissioning year of the 99 with a known date), 51 came online in the past decade and the oldest still listed is San Nicolás power station, dating from 1956. 51 are in the pipeline, led by Gaucho wind farm (4.2 GW), proposed.
