China has 74 export terminals mapped on the OverWatts open energy atlas — the 1st-largest fleet of the 57 countries that hold any, and 13% of the world's mapped total. Of these, 65 operating and 8 under construction or proposed. The largest is Qinhuangdao Coal Port (210 Mtpa).
The largest owner-operators are SDIC (4), Shenhua Group (4) and CLP Group (2) — SDIC alone is named on 5% of them. Half of China's export terminals in service predate 2008 (median commissioning year of the 57 with a known date), 15 came online in the past decade and the oldest still listed is Port of Beibuwan Beihai Coal Terminal, dating from 1950. 8 are in the pipeline, led by Huizhou Port Coal Terminal, proposed.
