No data can be found on exact existing transmission capacities, but it is reported that Myanmar imported at max 170 GWh of electricity per month in 2023. Assuming this is close to the maximum available capacity considering supply constraints and large electricity needs in Myanmar (see sources) this equals roughly 228 MW (170 GWh/31 days/24 hours). — Intentions exist to realise a 1 GW intertie between Myanmar and Yunnan (was part of a 2018 development plant in Myanmar) but as to-date has not yet materialized. Initial plans for completion were 2025 but this has been delayed.
