In 2022 the existing 110 kV tieline between Laos and Yunnan has been opened for two-way trade whereas historically it was solely operated for Chinese export. No data can be found on the exact power ratings in the new setup, yet we assume that the historical one-way limit (60 MW) can be operational in both directions. — There are also plans for a new 500 kV tieline yet no concrete information regarding power ratings/planned commissioning year.
